What we do not store
No account. No password. No transfer history. No address book. No tracking cookie. No data sold to anyone.
What we store, and for how long
- Your file — permanently deleted 3 days after the upload finishes.
- The file name and size — erased along with the transfer.
- An email address, only when a file has been requested, so we can tell you it has arrived and send you the link. Erased along with the transfer.
- A fingerprint of your IP address (salted SHA-256), never the address in the clear, to limit abuse.
- Your language choice, in a cookie, so the site comes back in the same language. It serves no other purpose and cannot be used to track you.
Payment
Card details are handled exclusively by Stripe and never pass through our servers. Accounting records relating to the payment are kept as required by law, independently of the deletion of the file.
What we cannot promise
The service does not encrypt files end to end and makes nobody untraceable. We answer judicial requests, like any hosting provider.
Your rights
You can ask for a transfer to be deleted immediately, or for access to the data concerning it, at contact@toobigtoshare.com.
